Not all of us know why wars are left to generals, or the story behind the black and white keys of the piano. Some of us care less about these facts.
But when it comes to public health, why, it concerns all of us – and all of us should have a say, not just the experts.
Do you see the Ebola killer machine now running berserk across the nation? We’ve been told, and we believe it one hundred percent, that it knows no tribe or creed, and the antidote against it is still remote. More than that, it is Public Enemy Number One, which requires the wisdom of generals, the knack of specialists, and so much more.
And this is why we welcome the unity between the Government and the Opposition behind the crusade against Ebola, and we’re insisting upon its longevity until the rascal killer is terminated.
We need not be told that we have wasted enough time already, anymore befuddling on our part means one thing: more lives to be lost. Let’s run along and work out our own salvation with all the resources we have – and let whosoever will come meet us way ahead.
If the international community is still undecided about what to do or is tied down by bureaucracy, it’s their god-damned business and we won’t blame their insensitivity, today or tomorrow. But Lord, we will henceforth tell them that the truth has dawned on us about the uselessness of treaties – or if it is useful at all, it profits only the Big White Guys.
Rtd. Brigadier Maada Bio, you’re welcome home, and making yourself available is welcome news. President Koroma needs every capable hand on deck – with that, definitely, we are sure to win this fight.
Welcoming Rtd. Brigadier Bio does not in any way mean other stalwarts of the Opposition Sierra Leone People Party didn’t play their part – in fact, they have been so outstanding! And in that list, John Oponjo Benjamin tops them all – why, he has proved himself a statesman to the core, and that has placed him far ahead of the rest that call themselves the oldest party in the country.
And while the able Rtd. Brigadier Bio is in town and has made himself available in the fight against Ebola, it behoves him to also make himself available to his party and bolster up its apparent disunity of which he is a major part, otherwise we will find and lay bare his hypocrisy in feigning to be a public servant whereas he is a divisive Tom when it comes to the party whose platform he is using to further his political dreams. It should be one people one country – not one country two people. Our dear sir, be inclusive, not exclusive, all right?
Finally, to the Government, keep on with the forward march till this satanic disease is eradicated – it gladdens our heart to hear our president being man enough to tell the hypocrites at Washington and London about their befuddling. Maybe for them promises are meant to be broken? But we know real men and entities do not just keep their promises – they keep it on time!
