The Naheeim Muslim Youth Organisation on Wednesday 18th July, 2018 presented a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for the Commission’s efforts in the fight against corruption in Sierra Leone.

Handing over the certificate to the ACC Commissioner, the Secretary General of the organization Foday Sillah, said his organisation was appreciative of the role and work of the ACC in ensuring that the country is rid of corruption.

He said as a partner organisation to the ACC, they would ensure that they provide the needed support to the Commission to combat corruption in the country.

Receiving the certificate on behalf of the Commission, the Commissioner of the ACC, Francis Ben Kaifala Esq. expressed gratitude to the youth organisation for recognizing the strides being made by the Commission to fight corruption in the country.

Commissioner Kaifala cited the biblical passage in which Jesus Christ healed ten lepers, but only one came back to say thank you, referring to Naheeim Muslim Youth Organisation as the grateful leper. “I was not here when you started the partnership with the Commission, but I assure you that the partnership will continue,” he said.

Earlier, the Deputy Director of Public Education and External Outreach Department, Patrick Sandi gave a background leading to the partnership. He said the organisation approached the Commission sometime last year requesting for partnership while observing their twentieth anniversary celebrations.

Mr. Sandi said that the Commission provided some support to the organisation as it marked a series of activities, including a marathon and thanksgiving service, which the Commission also participated in.

Also present at the ceremony were the ACC Deputy Commissioner, Shollay Davies, and a cross section of staff of the Public Education and External Outreach Department.
