Over 70,000 Civil Servants Registered In Sierra Leone

It has been confirmed to members of the press on Thursday 11 October 2018 at the Government press briefing at Youyi Building by the Director General of the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) Mohamed Mubashir Massaquoi that the Authority registered 77,242 government workers.

He said NCRA on the request of the Finance Ministry and the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) embarked on the registration, update and verification of all Civil and Public Servants including personnel of subvented Agencies from 10-24 September 2018, and was extended to 3 October in order to allow Ministries, Departments and Agencies that had not submitted their staff details to have an opportunity of doing so.

When the process ended few MDAs were yet to submit their data to enable NCRA to accommodate their staff into its database – and if these MDAs do not submit their details the data will not be completed in order to have a comprehensive report that will meet the desired purpose.

DG disclosed that the total number of officials that turned out for the Verification, Update and Registration amounted to 77, 242 out of 83,655 of details received from the Accountant General’s Department and other Government Employing/Subvented Agencies, totaling 92.32%: 26.86% females and 65.47% male respectively.
