National security is a crucial element in sustaining good governance. A nation that effectively sustains her national security stands the chances of making gains in terms of socio-economic development. For instance, when you have dozens of foreign and national investment opportunities, it is only when national security is guaranteed that such investments can flourish. Countries like China, Japan and even the world power, the United States, have all tend to reach their apex of development due to a number of reasons, amongst them their ability to maintain their internal security. But sustaining and maintaining state security involves the collective role of citizens. And it is only when we respect the law by abiding to what law enforcement agencies say that we can achieve what we wish to. I would prefer a country without a participatory form of democracy that one with a force police.

UNICEF Reiterates - Allow All Pregnant Girls to Take Exams
Freetown 3 May2013 –UNICEF calls on everyone, parents, exam officials and head teachers in Sierra Leone to ensure pregnant girls are allowed and supported to take their exams. “It has come to our attention that last year a number of girls were either not entered for the exams or turned away from the exam hall by invigilators because they were pregnant”, said UNICEF Country Representative Roeland Monasch. “UNICEF would like to point out that this practice is highly discriminative.
The Freetown Court No.3 on May 6, 2013, charged Kasho Cole and Ibrahim Samura, Managing Editor and editor respectively of privately-owned Prime Newspaper, on eight counts of offences including criminal defamation for allegedly publishing an article about Lawyer Adekule King, an employee of the National Petroleum Directorate.
On 24 May last year, I went to Kailahun with the Peace Project to donate crutches to the disabled and while there the blind also requested we help them with walking canes. We promised to be back with the 500 walking canes once they arrive from the United States.
When I got back to Parliament after the trip, I bumped literally into Hon Alice Foyah and after apologising for my clumsiness I told her of my trip to her constituency. She smiled fully, her eyes like two shining buttons. She placed a hand on my shoulder and said warmly:
